Creativity in my life is a necessity. My job doesn’t always allow me to express my creativity so it’s important for me to seek out those opportunities whenever possible. One thing that really brings me back to my creative roots is making floral arrangements. Making an arrangement is like styling to me….I guess that explains why I love it so much! Colors, textures, shapes…these are all things I typically take into consideration when I put together an arrangement like I would an outfit. It’s like a form of fashion. This Christmas I decided to put together arrangements as gifts to take with me on my house visits for the holidays. I always find flowers to be such a perfect simple gift to thank someone for inviting you into their home, this and a bottle of wine of course! ;) I shopped for flowers at my local grocery store that sells a variety of mix and match options (3 small bouquets for $12 to be exact). I also stopped by Michaels and picked up some decorative accent pieces to add to the bouquets to make them a bit more festive. It must have been my lucky day too because all the seasonal items were 70% off…my kind of deal! I also bought a tin water can at Michaels to use as a vase for one of the arrangements and two cylinder vases for $1 each at the dollar store. It cost me about $35 total to create all three bouquets. I could of easily paid over $35 for one pre-made arrangement at a flower shop or flowers.com but instead I opted for a DIY project that cost way less and allowed me to unleash my creative side!
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday with family and friends! Hopefully, these arrangements inspire you to create a beautiful gift of your own.
