Best Pins of 2013

Since first discovering Pinterest, I immediately became obsessed. Pinterest is like my closest filled of all the things I’ve ever wanted but never could have. Thanks to Pinterest, I have my wedding planned out, my future wardrobe, my dream home picked out, and recipes for days. I often go to Pinterest to get inspired when I’m in a slump and that usually gets my creative juices flowing again. With 2013 coming to an end, I wanted to share my top pins for the year. BTW…it was a really hard decision to have to narrow down the best of 4,000 plus pins from my boards but somehow I miraculously did it! Enjoy & don't forget to follow me on Pinterest!

With New Years Eve right around the corner, the outfit planning is in full effect. My go-to is always a pretty little dress that I can dress up with a chunky necklace and a good pair of strappy heels or booties. It's an easy choice you can have fun with. Check out my top dress picks for the occasion…decisions, decisions.

Holiday Arrangements

Creativity in my life is a necessity. My job doesn’t always allow me to express my creativity so it’s important for me to seek out those opportunities whenever possible. One thing that really brings me back to my creative roots is making floral arrangements. Making an arrangement is like styling to me….I guess that explains why I love it so much! Colors, textures, shapes…these are all things I typically take into consideration when I put together an arrangement like I would an outfit. It’s like a form of fashion. This Christmas I decided to put together arrangements as gifts to take with me on my house visits for the holidays. I always find flowers to be such a perfect simple gift to thank someone for inviting you into their home, this and a bottle of wine of course! ;) I shopped for flowers at my local grocery store that sells a variety of mix and match options (3 small bouquets for $12 to be exact). I also stopped by Michaels and picked up some decorative accent pieces to add to the bouquets to make them a bit more festive. It must have been my lucky day too because all the seasonal items were 70% off…my kind of deal! I also bought a tin water can at Michaels to use as a vase for one of the arrangements and two cylinder vases for $1 each at the dollar store. It cost me about $35 total to create all three bouquets. I could of easily paid over $35 for one pre-made arrangement at a flower shop or flowers.com but instead I opted for a DIY project that cost way less and allowed me to unleash my creative side!

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday with family and friends! Hopefully, these arrangements inspire you to create a beautiful gift of your own.
